Job Description

Support guests through the overnight rhythm in our Rooms and Front Office team at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago - Oak Brook in Oak Brook, IL (onsite). This Night Auditor (Overnight Shift) role keeps the front desk running smoothly while handling registration, checkout, cashiering, and daily revenue reconciliation. You will also help deliver recognition through the Hotel Rewards Program and contribute to accurate end-of-day reporting.

Pay: $19.00 per hour. Compensation within this range is based on relevant experience, skills, and other job-related factors consistent with applicable law.

What you will do

Greet and welcome guests upon arrival.
Register guests into the computer, verifying reservation details, address, and credit information.
Accept payment for guest accounts at registration and at checkout.
Maintain a house bank, making deposits and completing accurate daily receipts reporting.
Cash checks and exchange currency for guests.
Issue key access and control entrance for safety deposit boxes.
Post miscellaneous charges as requested.
Arrive on time in full uniform with tools and equipment needed for service.
Review expected arrivals, ensure VIP and special request reservations are pre-registered and blocked properly, and notify other departments of room assignments.
Review daily room availability and inform staff.
Check the status of departures daily.
Relay relevant information to front desk agents, telecommunications, the following shift supervisor, and the Front Office Manager.
Complete all necessary reports and forms daily.
Reconcile and complete daily front desk agents’ work.
Run find trial balance to post rooms and close the day, and run accounts receivable reports.
Provide next-day reports for Front Office, Housekeeping, Sales, and Executive Office as required.
Assist concierge with mail and facsimiles, and provide information about hotel facilities and local attractions.
Book reservations for guests who approach the Front Desk.

What we need from you

Ability to read and write to support communication processes.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services, and facilities.
Excellent customer relations skills and leadership capability.
Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to stand and exert well-paced activity for up to 8 hours.
Ability to reach other hotel departments in a timely manner.
Ability to exert well-paced activity in limited space.
Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to grasp, write, stand, sit, walk, perform repetitive motions, bend, climb, listen and hear; visual acuity required.
Talking and hearing occur continuously when communicating with guests, supervisors, and employees.
Ability to spend extended time viewing a computer screen.
Vision needs include near vision and depth perception.
Manual dexterity to operate required equipment, including finger dexterity for office equipment use.

Job Description

In this onsite role at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago - Oak Brook, you will supervise front desk daily operations, ensuring timely registration and checkout while guiding front desk agents to deliver accurate guest handling, reporting, and readiness of equipment and supplies.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and welcome guests upon arrival; register guests into the computer by verifying reservation details, address, and credit information; promote the Hotel’s reward program and recognize present members with recognition and benefits.
Accept payment for guest accounts at registration and at checkout; maintain a house bank, make deposits, and complete accurate daily reports of receipts.
Supervise front desk agents and ensure the correct sequence of events for proper registration and checkout of guests.
Assign front desk tasks related to credit handling, missing addresses, registration bucket maintenance, registration cards, posting charges, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the front desk.
Arrive on time in full uniform, prepared with the tools and equipment needed for service.

Review daily room availability and inform staff; check departure status on a daily basis.
