The Hotel Sales & Operations Manager combines hands-on supervision with strategic oversight of sales, budgeting, and staff development, guiding department heads to maintain high standards of service across every facet of the property. Responsibilities
- Manage all facets of hotel operations, including guest services, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, finances, team-building, and staff development.
- Direct the work of hotel department heads to ensure cohesive, high-quality operations.
- Oversee all areas of hotel management, spanning sales and marketing, human resources, food and beverage, and budgeting/forecasting.
- Empower associates to deliver exceptional care to guests, colleagues, and visitors.
- Approve plans, budgets, staffing levels, and standard operating procedures for rooms, housekeeping, maintenance, and security.
- Monitor the budget and implement corrective actions to achieve financial targets.
- Serve as an administrative link among departments to facilitate smooth operations.
- Oversee internal cost control procedures and coordinate training initiatives.
- Assist the General Manager in developing and implementing long-range and annual plans, operating reports, forecasts, and budgets.
- Monitor safety, ensure adherence to procedures, update emergency plans, and train staff accordingly across departments.
- Receive, investigate, and act upon complaints from guests and employees.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and energy-management programs are applied.
- Participate in ongoing facility inspections to uphold cleanliness, safety, and other standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of three years of hotel management or supervisory experience
- Strong leadership and a professional image
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong decision-making and analytical abilities
- Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
