Cafeteria Attendant

Compensation: $31.63 per hour.

What you’ll do

This role in Food & Beverage - Staff Cafeteria / Canteen includes key food and service tasks across the cafeteria line and dining areas. You will follow food storage and handling procedures, prepare and portion items according to daily menus and production schedules, and help ensure the station stays clean and ready for service.

• Maintain food storage and handling procedures while meeting food quality and nutritional standards.
• Support culinary food production, including portion control and service standards aligned with the production schedule and daily menus.
• Transport food to and from the main kitchen to the cafeteria, and store food in designated areas.
• Complete basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, and cutting.
• Cook food in quantities based on the menu and number of persons to be served, and assemble or cook to order where applicable.
• Portion, dish, and serve plates along the cafeteria line.
• Keep work areas clean by cleaning equipment and utensils, and segregating garbage.
• Set up and break down the shift cafeteria line.
• Clear and buss dining areas, including tables and chairs.

What you’ll need

• Strong attention to detail.
• Great communication skills with a strong customer service ethic.
• English is the primary language used in the hotel. You can comfortably communicate in English.
• Proficient knife skills.
• Experience or comfort using equipment including: griddle/open burner unit, deep fryer, microwave, soft serve frozen dessert machine, coffee maker and dispenser, iced tea brewer, and soda and milk dispenser.
• Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk regularly; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects/tools/controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
• Occasional ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
