Job Description

The Edgewater Hotel in Madison is seeking a meticulous Purchasing Steward to manage the flow of supplies and inventory across the property. This onsite role coordinates vendor orders, receives shipments, and maintains accurate purchasing records for multiple departments, ensuring everything moves smoothly from receipt to stocking.

Overview

The Purchasing Steward oversees all aspects of supplies and inventory, including creating and sending purchase orders to vendors and receiving shipments from vendors and hotel guests. The role also ensures inventories remain accurate and that product orders are entered into the purchasing software on behalf of different departments.

Responsibilities

Oversee the proper handling of all supplies and inventory received by and shipped from the property.
Create and dispatch purchase orders to vendors based on the needs of the property's departments.
Receive product shipments from vendors and guests of the hotel.
Maintain accurate inventories and controls to enter product orders into purchasing software on behalf of different departments.
Prepare and inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet required specifications.
Pack, seal, crate and label materials for shipping.
Deliver or direct incoming materials to their respective departments or stock locations.
Safely operate a hydraulic loading dock ramp, hydraulic waste compactor and hydraulic pallet-jack.
Safely operate furniture, upright and convertible hand-trucks / dollies and additional material handling equipment as needed.
Warehouse organization and upkeep with a safety-first mindset.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the company's shipping/receiving dock and the main receiving floor hallway.
Adhere to The Edgewater's company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Other duties as assigned.
