Breakfast Attendant
Job Description
Support the morning dining experience by greeting guests, preparing breakfast service, and keeping the food service area inspection-ready at our Minot location.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation, cooking, and presentation of menu items in line with standard recipes for bistro and banquet service
- Greet every guest/customer with a smile and maintain a positive, professional tone
- Prepare and present items, keep the service area organized and clean, and clean tables and surrounding areas while following all health requirements
- Provide consistent, professional guest interactions; handle difficult situations and people diplomatically
- Ensure the full breakfast selection is available daily and that operating hours are followed
- Monitor and inspect food and beverage deliveries to support portion controls
- Support a safe working environment by complying with safety programs, Health Department requirements, and job safety analysis
- Maintain and enforce sanitation laws and kitchen safety standards for anyone entering the kitchen area
- Inspect food and beverage outlets for proper storage, neatness, cleanliness, side-work completion, and inventory rotation
- Assist with daily/weekly/monthly food and beverage inventories
- Act as an enthusiastic, helpful, and positive team member with mature conduct
- Encourage and support coworkers; stay self-motivated and manage time effectively
- Maintain open communication with each department and share pertinent information
- Respond positively to new ideas and accept constructive feedback
- Help other departments during emergency situations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by a supervisor
Requirements
- High School diploma / Secondary qualification or equivalent
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt processes and standards
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used at the workplace
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to supervise subordinate staff, including assigning duties and evaluating performance
- Ability to prepare and analyze dates, figures, and transcriptions created on and generated by computer
- Knowledge of hotel food and beverage operations
- Knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages
- Basic computational ability
- Basic computer skills
- Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services, and facilities
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws related to equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations
- Knowledge of state regulations regarding health policies
- Most tasks performed indoors with moderate, controlled temperatures
- Ability to stand and move for up to 4 hours
- Ability to work effectively in limited space
- Ability to reach different floors of the hotel on a timely basis
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular and ongoing basis
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to complete cleaning and inspection tasks
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity
- Talking and hearing occur continuously during communication with guests, supervisors, and subordinates
- Vision occurs continuously, including near vision and depth perception
- Manual dexterity to operate necessary equipment
- Food handler’s permit if required by state law
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain Alcohol Awareness training if required by state law and/or brand standard
