Public Space Attendant

Overview

The Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and a polished appearance in the hotel’s public spaces, including back of house areas.

Essential Job Functions

• Clean and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel lobby, meeting space, public restrooms, and other public areas.
• Clean and maintain the surrounding areas of the property, including the sidewalk, brass awning poles, signage, entrance, and alley.
• Complete deep cleaning tasks for assigned areas, including shampooing rooms and public areas, window washing, cleaning hotel light fixtures, and cleaning guest elevators.
• Clean and maintain back of house areas, including the employee break room, hotel laundry room, compactor area, and employee restroom.
• Check inventory and replenish supplies and cleaning tools.
• Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Respond quickly to guest requests in a timely and friendly manner.
• Follow procedures for entering and leaving guest rooms.
• Return lost items found in guest rooms, hallways, or back of house locations to the Housekeeping department for lost and found.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• OR one to three months of related experience and/or training
• OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
