Seasonal Housekeeper

New Paltz Way Hotel is hiring Seasonal Housekeepers to keep guest rooms and shared spaces impeccably clean at our onsite location in New Paltz, NY. This role supports a smooth, welcoming guest experience every day, with the added benefit of an employee discount and paid time off. Pay is $22.00 to $25.00 per hour.

What you will do

As a Seasonal Housekeeper, you will handle daily cleaning and presentation work across both guest accommodations and common areas. Your focus will be on completing room standards before check-in, maintaining a polished property look, and keeping communication clear across teams.

• Clean and service guest rooms daily, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing bathrooms
• Replenish amenities such as toiletries, towels, and linens
• Ensure rooms meet hotel standards for cleanliness and presentation prior to guest check-in
• Clean and maintain common areas including hallways, lobby, and staff areas
• Communicate consistently with the Housekeeping Team, Front Desk Team Members, and Maintenance regarding room status and any issues with rooms or the property
• Handle guest requests in a courteous and timely manner while on-site
• Follow proper procedures for handling lost and found items
• Sort, wash, dry, and fold linens and towels, keeping inventories organized to hotel standards
• Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently, monitoring wash cycles, chemical use, and load sizes to support quality and fabric care
• Inspect items for stains, damage, or wear, rewash or remove from circulation as needed
• Maintain housekeeping caddies, supplies, and storage areas in an organized manner
• Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
• Provide daily presentation of accommodations and the property as a whole

The goal is to help support minimal guest complaints related to room, grounds, and property cleanliness.

What you bring

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred (hotel experience is a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
• Physical ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods
• Friendly and professional demeanor
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
