Job Description

As a Housekeeping Room Attendant at Sandman Hotel Group, you play an essential role in keeping guest rooms clean, secure, and ready for occupancy. This onsite position in Plano, TX focuses on high-standard room care, guest and staff support, and timely reporting of maintenance and safety concerns.

Key Responsibilities

Clean and prepare rooms according to Sandman Hotels standards.
Maintain current knowledge of chemicals and cleaning products and follow correct handling procedures.
Respond to guests and staff inquiries, requests, and complaints in a prompt and courteous manner.
Record any lost property found in guest rooms on the worksheet and hand it in to the Supervisor/Manager at the end of each shift.
Report maintenance and safety hazards promptly to the Supervisor/Manager to reduce risk.
Take personal responsibility for housekeeping equipment, ensuring it is operated correctly and kept secure at all times.
Report any unusual or suspicious persons or activities in the security area to the manager.
Report maintenance items, including burned-out light bulbs.
Check under beds, drawers, and closets for left-behind articles and or trash.
Clean sinks and fixtures, and restock terry, soap, glasses, comment cards, coffee, and other amenities.
Clean coffee pots when needed and ensure pots are plugged in.
Arrange furniture in accordance with guest use.
Maintain security of guest rooms and uphold guest privacy.

Laundry and Housekeeping Support

Perform laundry tasks as necessary, including collecting, sorting, and transporting laundry at the beginning of each shift.
Remove laundry from dryers and fold immediately to prevent wrinkling.
Stock the linen supply room with clean linens for next-day use.
Handle laundry including: bed linens, blankets, duvets/comforters, towels and face cloths, and restaurant table linens.
At end of day, wash, dry, and fold all cleaning cloths for housekeeping needs.
Complete small mending repairs when required.
Perform Houseperson duties if required.

Requirements

No education or experience required; training will be provided one-on-one.
Ability to follow instruction.
Good communication skills are an asset.
Ability to work with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.
Professional appearance and manners.
