Job Description

Hotel Wave in Rehoboth Beach is seeking a capable maintenance engineer to protect the property’s facilities and ensure that all building systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This on-site role demands the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and troubleshoot a broad range of maintenance issues to keep guest spaces, public areas, and equipment running smoothly.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs across the hotel, covering HVAC, plumbing, electrical, guestroom fixtures, swimming pool equipment, and electronic lock systems.
Conduct quarterly preventative maintenance inspections in all guestrooms.
Diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and complete timely repairs.
Install, repair, and fabricate components as needed.
Utilize testing equipment, including multimeters and ohmmeters, to diagnose and repair electrical systems.
Perform routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and help prevent equipment downtime.
Collaborate with the General Manager and Housekeeping Manager to keep the hotel safe, functional, and guest-ready at all times.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety policies and procedures.
Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.

Requirements

Experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Hotel Maintenance Technician, or in a similar maintenance role.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various indoor and outdoor conditions.
Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
