Job Description

The Genevieve Hotel is seeking a part-time AM Line Cook to support breakfast service on-site in Santa Ynez, CA. This position is scheduled for 2 days per week, with shifts running from 6:00am to 2:00pm, helping ensure timely, accurate food production for guests.

Role Overview

As an AM Line Cook, you will prepare ingredients, cook and assemble dishes according to established recipes, and support a smooth delivery of breakfast items. The role also requires maintaining a clean and organized station while meeting sanitary and hygiene standards throughout service.

Compensation and Schedule

Pay: USD 20 to 22 per hour
Job type: Part time
Location: Santa Ynez, CA (onsite)
Schedule: 2 days per week, 6:00am–2:00pm
Shift details: 8 hour shift; Day shift

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients, then cook and assemble dishes based on recipes
Ensure dishes are prepared on time by restocking ingredients at the work station and meeting prep times
Set up and clean the station in accordance with restaurant protocol
Maintain cleanliness in the work station area, including kitchen equipment, tables, and shelves
Comply with applicable sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards
Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products
Complete additional tasks assigned by the line supervisor, sous-chef, or executive chef

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree preferred
Experience: 1–3 years cooking experience in a restaurant, hotel, or resort
Knowledge of cooking methods and procedures, including knife handling skills
Ability to work with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
Ability to read and follow cooking directions
Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
Organized and self-motivated work style
Ability to stand, bend, stretch, and lift or carry heavy materials
Availability for 2 days per week from 6:00am to 2:00pm
