Catering Sales Manager
Job Description
The Crescent Hotel Fort Worth is hiring an on-site Catering Sales Manager in Fort Worth, TX. In this role, you will grow new catering business, strengthen existing accounts, and coordinate client functions to support customer satisfaction while protecting profitable operations and high-quality products and service levels.
What you’ll do
- Solicit new catering accounts and sustain relationships with existing accounts to meet and/or exceed revenue goals.
- Coordinate and service client functions, using the Partnership Agreement to support client needs and ensure smooth execution.
- Prepare and submit required reports on a timely basis.
- Follow up on all turnovers within 24 hours by telephone and within 3 days by written correspondence.
- Know meeting room setups and capabilities, plus sleeping room configurations and types, to accurately match events to hotel space.
- Respond immediately to Express Meeting inquiries.
- Maintain pricing integrity and propose upscale menus for clients.
- Manage the function diary and adjust space to maximize revenue potential.
- Manage existing accounts, including client re-solicitation to capture future business.
- Work with other F&B managers and keep them informed of F&B issues as they arise.
- Interact with outside planners and vendors involved in event setup.
- Be visible on the floor during functions and assist staff as needed.
- Support departmental and hotel training efforts, including One-to-One Training and related activities.
- Use feedback from client evaluations to improve service and quality.
Operational knowledge that supports sales
You’ll bring comprehensive knowledge of operational departments, including guest services, reservations, housekeeping, audio visual, switchboard, accounting, restaurants, bars, and engineering. This depth helps you coordinate confidently across the hotel and respond effectively to client and employee needs.
What you bring
- At least 4 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, or alternatively: a 2-year college degree with 3+ years related experience, or a 4-year college degree with at least 2 years related experience.
- Proficiency in Windows and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing.
- Delphi proficiency preferred.
- Flexibility for long hours as needed.
- Ability to maintain a warm, friendly demeanor at all times.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with employees and guests at all levels in a courteous, attentive, service-oriented manner.
- Effective listening skills to understand and clarify concerns from employees and guests.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Physical capability: medium work exertion, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently or constantly.
- Ability to follow other duties as requested by management.
- At all times, keep your immediate supervisor fully informed of problems or matters requiring attention.
