What you’ll do

In this role, you will operate washing and drying machines to keep hotel and guest linens in top condition. Your day-to-day work will include moving laundry through the full process, from sorting soiled items to folding clean linens for Hotel/Guest use.

• Unload and sort soiled linen, then load machines with the proper amount of soiled linen.
• Unload washers and load dryers to ensure linens are processed correctly.
• Sort and fold clean linen, including linens, blankets, and similar items.
• Oversee proper operation of washers and dryers during processing.
• Maintain the laundry room in a clean, orderly condition.
• Complete other assigned duties, including cross training.
• Provide regular and reliable attendance and punctuality as an essential function.
• Demonstrate respectful, positive, productive teamwork at all times as an essential function.

Physical demands and working conditions

This position involves active work in the laundry environment, including repetitive motions and exposure to laundry-related conditions. You must be able to lift and carry up to:

• Average 20 lbs frequently
• Maximum 50 lbs frequently
• Pushing and pulling: average 50 lbs frequently, maximum 150 lbs

You will also stand and walk up to two miles per day on cement, tile, asphalt, and carpet, with reaching/overhead extension to pull items down. Work includes repetitive bending, stooping, and twisting, plus exposure to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, dust, and noise. You must follow the Hotel’s safety standards and procedures, including appropriate hearing, eye, and hand protection for equipment operation.

Requirements

• Adhere to Hotel safety standards and procedures; follow all safety procedures.
• Effectively manage time and work under time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate with guests as well as management and team members.
• Follow all applicable policies and procedures while striving to improve operational standards.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards.
• Laundry or housekeeping experience in a hotel setting is preferred.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
