Room Attendant
Job Description
As a Room Attendant, you will perform a combination of housekeeping tasks to keep hotel rooms clean, orderly, and ready for guest arrivals. The role includes room preparation, cleaning and sanitizing work, and coordination with supervisors to maintain smooth service throughout each shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Make beds, replenish linens, and clean rooms, bathrooms, and hall areas, including vacuuming.
- Unload and load the housekeeping cart with supplies.
- Replace and restock cleaning supplies as needed.
- Report problems and maintenance repairs when they are identified.
- Communicate with the supervisor regarding room status, work progress, and guest requests or issues.
- Record and turn in all lost and found items.
- Maintain the housekeeping cart in a clean, neat, and stocked condition.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Complete other assigned duties, including cross training.
- Work within recognized time frames appropriate to each task and meet expected cleaning times for rooms according to brand standards.
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Support a respectful, positive, and teamwork-focused work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Lift and carry an average of 20 lbs frequently, with a maximum of 50 lbs frequently.
- Stand and walk up to two miles per day on cement, tile, asphalt, and carpet.
- Perform reaching and overhead extension to pull items down.
- Pushing and pulling with an average load of 50 lbs frequently and a maximum of 150 lbs.
- Complete repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, stooping, and twisting.
- Work with and be exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, dust, and noise.
- Adhere to the hotel’s safety standards and procedures, including hearing, eye, and hand protection for equipment operation.
- Effectively manage time, including time spent per room, planning, and prioritizing.
- Communicate effectively with guests, management, and team members.
- Work under time constraints in a fast-paced environment and meet recognized time frames for tasks.
- Follow all policies and procedures while continuously working to improve standards of operation.
- Follow all safety procedures and meet or exceed productivity standards.
- Prior housekeeping experience is helpful.
- Pass a criminal background check.
Working Conditions
