Job Description

The Marriott Aloft Hotel in Cupertino, part of the Shashi Hospitality Group, is seeking an energetic, guest-focused Front Desk Lead to support smooth front office operations and consistently strong guest experiences. In this onsite role, you will serve as a central point of contact for arriving and departing guests while partnering with other hotel teams to keep each day running seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional guest service with professionalism, hospitality, and enthusiasm.
Welcome guests and manage hotel check-in and check-out procedures, including assistance with reservations.
Handle guest requests and concerns promptly and professionally, including service recovery situations.
Support revenue goals by maximizing daily room revenue opportunities and assisting with room sales and availability management.
Coordinate guest arrivals, departures, special requests, and room assignments.
Maintain accurate guest information, update room status, and track amenities within hotel systems.
Review daily front office logs, guest feedback, and operational updates to maintain continuity between shifts.
Use the Lightspeed Property Management System (PMS) and other hotel systems to support front office operations.
Collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, and hotel leadership to help ensure a seamless guest experience.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and lobby environment.
Support additional hotel operations and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Prior hotel Front Desk experience required.
Customer service experience and computer skills required.
Strong communication, multitasking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Positive, professional, and proactive attitude with a strong guest-service mindset.
Ability to work efficiently and stay organized in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospitality environment.
Comfort handling guest concerns, service recovery, and operational challenges professionally.
Basic computer proficiency required; experience with hotel reservation or property management systems preferred.
Experience with Lightspeed PMS is a plus.
Dependable attendance and punctuality; available flexibly including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or hospitality education is a plus.
Fluent in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift; occasionally lift, carry, push, or move supplies, luggage, or equipment up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Schedule & Pay

Schedule availability required, including PM shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Flexibility needed to cover last-minute scheduling needs.
Pay range: $23 to $24 per hour (USD 23.00 - 24.00 per hour).

Starting pay: USD 21 per hour. This position supports daily kitchen production by preparing and cooking menu items, maintaining food quality and presentation, and following food safety and sanitation procedures.

What you’ll do

Prepare and cook menu items using recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
Set up and stock cooking stations with ingredients, supplies, and equipment needed for service.
Prepare ingredients and components, including sauces, proteins, vegetables, and other menu items for daily operations.
Cook items accurately, consistently, and in a timely manner during each service period.
Plate and garnish menu items according to company and brand presentation standards.
Monitor food quality, freshness, temperatures, and portion control throughout each shift.
Support prep work and overall kitchen operations before, during, and after service.
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across kitchen, prep, storage, and work areas.
Wash dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed for efficient operations.
Store food properly, rotate inventory using FIFO, and maintain labeling and temperature standards.
Assist with receiving deliveries, organizing inventory, and restocking kitchen supplies.
Follow all food safety procedures, sanitation standards, and health department regulations.
Maintain a safe, clean, professional kitchen environment while supporting hotel Food & Beverage operations.

What we need from you

Past food prep experience required.
Food Handler certified.
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation methods, kitchen equipment, and knife skills.
Ability to prepare multiple menu items efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency.
Ability to work with speed, accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation practices, and kitchen hygiene standards.
Positive attitude with teamwork, communication, and reliability.
ServSafe Certification preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary education or training is a plus.
Dependable attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.
Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods; frequently bend, reach, stoop, lift, carry, push, or pull items, including equipment and food products up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation; and safely use kitchen equipment, knives, ovens, slicers, and other food preparation tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen with exposure to heat, steam, and refrigeration areas.

Schedule: Must be able to work Mondays through Fridays.
