Join the Marriott Aloft Hotel team with Shashi Hospitality Group in Cupertino, CA. This on-site Hotel Cook role supports fast-paced hotel Food & Beverage operations while helping deliver consistent quality, clean standards, and great guest experiences.
Starting pay: USD 21 per hour. This position supports daily kitchen production by preparing and cooking menu items, maintaining food quality and presentation, and following food safety and sanitation procedures.

What you’ll do
- Prepare and cook menu items using recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Set up and stock cooking stations with ingredients, supplies, and equipment needed for service.
- Prepare ingredients and components, including sauces, proteins, vegetables, and other menu items for daily operations.
- Cook items accurately, consistently, and in a timely manner during each service period.
- Plate and garnish menu items according to company and brand presentation standards.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, temperatures, and portion control throughout each shift.
- Support prep work and overall kitchen operations before, during, and after service.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across kitchen, prep, storage, and work areas.
- Wash dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed for efficient operations.
- Store food properly, rotate inventory using FIFO, and maintain labeling and temperature standards.
- Assist with receiving deliveries, organizing inventory, and restocking kitchen supplies.
- Follow all food safety procedures, sanitation standards, and health department regulations.
- Maintain a safe, clean, professional kitchen environment while supporting hotel Food & Beverage operations.
What we need from you
- Past food prep experience required.
- Food Handler certified.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation methods, kitchen equipment, and knife skills.
- Ability to prepare multiple menu items efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Ability to work with speed, accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation practices, and kitchen hygiene standards.
- Positive attitude with teamwork, communication, and reliability.
- ServSafe Certification preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary education or training is a plus.
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods; frequently bend, reach, stoop, lift, carry, push, or pull items, including equipment and food products up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation; and safely use kitchen equipment, knives, ovens, slicers, and other food preparation tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen with exposure to heat, steam, and refrigeration areas.
Schedule: Must be able to work Mondays through Fridays.
