Job Description

Forest Villas Hotel is seeking an Executive Housekeeper in Prescott, AZ to lead the day-to-day cleanliness, sanitation, and upkeep of our boutique property. This onsite role focuses on managing housekeeping operations, supporting a high-performing team, and ensuring health and safety standards are consistently met for a strong guest and client experience.

In this leadership position, you will supervise cleaning, laundry, and sanitation work across the property, develop schedules and procedures, and monitor quality through regular inspections. You will also coordinate specialized cleaning projects and help maintain the supplies and equipment needed to keep everything running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities, including cleaning, laundry, and sanitation tasks across all property areas
Lead, train, and motivate housekeeping staff to support efficient operations and adherence to quality expectations
Create and implement cleaning schedules, protocols, and safety procedures based on industry best practices
Monitor inventory for cleaning supplies, equipment, and linens, and manage procurement as needed
Perform routine inspections to confirm cleanliness standards are met or exceeded while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations
Oversee industrial cleaning projects and specialized custodial tasks that require advanced techniques or equipment
Support a team-oriented environment through clear management communication, conflict resolution, and leadership development

Requirements

Proven experience in , cleaning, or hospitality housekeeping management with supervisory responsibilities
Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, safety regulations, and management of cleaning and sanitation processes
Demonstrated leadership skills, including supervising teams in fast-paced environments
Excellent managerial communication skills to direct staff and liaise with other departments or clients
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in cleanliness and safety
Experience with laundry operations and industrial cleaning equipment is preferred

Responsibilities

Fetch supplies from storerooms, prepare and maintain cleaning carts, and keep storerooms organized to support efficient room cleaning
Clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways; use ladders or stepping stools for hard-to-reach spots to keep the facility neat and presentable
Wash shower walls and tubs, clean toilets and stall walls as applicable, wipe exposed pipes, and clean mirrors and sinks for sanitary guest and public restrooms
Replace towels, soaps and all room amenities; restock literature removed by guests or that is soiled or torn
Clean hard floor surfaces by hand to remove dirt and grime
Dust and polish furniture, fixtures and wall hangings; reach vents and ceiling corners to remove dust and cobwebs
Strip beds and remake with fresh linens; inspect bedspreads, blankets and pads for cleanliness and lift mattresses to check for soil
Check closets for cleanliness, wipe doors and handles, and restock supplies such as hangers, extra blankets and pillows
Vacuum rooms, public areas and hallways; operate vacuums up to 25 lbs and move heavy furniture to clean under and around fixtures
Inspect door and window locks and report any unsecured or unsafe situations
Inspect room equipment (TV, lights, faucets, radios) and report maintenance deficiencies in writing for prompt resolution
Secure and maintain custody of equipment, keys and supplies at all times
Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Assist the laundry department by handling soiled linen, sorting loads, operating industrial washers and dryers, pressing, and distributing cleaned linen
Clean patio or balcony areas by sweeping or hosing floors, wiping furniture and fixtures, removing trash, and cleaning doors and windows
Support other departments to help achieve overall hotel performance

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience aligned with brand standards such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or equivalent cleaning standards
Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, cleaning products, and standard cleaning equipment
Ability to see fine debris in low light and read written instructions and computer print-outs
Upper body strength to lift up to 50 lbs continually during an 8 hour shift
Dexterity to push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture throughout an 8 hour shift
Capability to work with arms raised above head during an 8 hour shift
Ability to maneuver a fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50 lbs through hallways and into/out of closets
Familiarity with basic residential cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers and carpet cleaning equipment
Cleaning cart
