Building Maintenance Engineer

The Building Maintenance Engineer role at Wellsboro Hotel Company supports the safe, reliable operation of the hotel by maintaining core facility systems, responding to maintenance needs, and completing a range of skilled tasks across the property.

Compensation

• Hourly pay: USD 17 - 20 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and support critical hotel systems, including hot water systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), plumbing, lighting, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, and other essential equipment to help ensure efficient operation.
• Address maintenance work orders in an organized and efficient manner to resolve issues promptly.
• Complete regular preventative maintenance to help prevent breakdowns and extend the service life of equipment and systems.
• Coordinate repair and maintenance work with outside vendors, ensuring external services align with hotel needs and scheduling.
• Apply specialized trade skills across plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry, and support in-house projects that require advanced technical knowledge, including pool maintenance.
• Manage snow and ice removal for walkways and entrances during winter to maintain guest safety and accessibility.
• Perform interior and exterior painting as needed to maintain the hotel’s appearance and support a welcoming environment.
• Maintain plumbing system performance by fixing leaks, unclogging drains, repairing pipes, and supporting water supply systems.
• Handle electrical repairs and maintenance, including troubleshooting and fixing lighting issues, electrical outlets, and circuit breakers, while supporting safe and proper electrical system function.
• Complete carpentry repairs, including fixes to furniture, doors, and structural components to preserve both integrity and appearance.
• Support ongoing upkeep of outdoor areas, including walkways, and help maintain cleanliness and overall grounds appearance.
• Complete seasonal upkeep such as leaf removal, supporting well-maintained outdoor spaces year-round.
