Evening Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description
The Evening Maintenance Supervisor role at Hotel Polaris at the U.S. Air Force Academy is responsible for overseeing safe, efficient maintenance operations during evening hours. The position includes emergency readiness, preventive maintenance scheduling, and coordination of maintenance work across hotel systems and facilities.
Role Overview
In this onsite position in Colorado Springs, CO, you will support facility upkeep, manage departmental maintenance priorities, and help ensure the hotel’s structures and building systems operate reliably. This role includes responding to life-safety situations and supporting preventive maintenance timelines for guestrooms and public areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient condition.
- Manage an adequate inventory of parts, supplies, tools, and materials for the maintenance department.
- Respond to emergencies, including fire alarms and other life-safety events.
- Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations affecting building operations.
- Conduct property walk-throughs and visually assess the safe and efficient operation of physical structures, mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC systems, and other related equipment.
- Complete general maintenance work in guestrooms and public areas.
- Receive daily work assignments and review priorities and special projects.
- Maintain timelines and work schedules in alignment with the preventive maintenance program.
- Perform maintenance work orders as needed, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and carpentry.
- Assist other engineering and maintenance personnel as instructed by the Director of Engineering for routine and preventive maintenance tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in facilities management of related properties or comparable businesses.
- At least two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
- Extensive working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, roofs, building finishes, mechanical operations, energy management, and Preventative Maintenance Programs.
- Experience in a comparable AAA Four Diamond/Four Star hotel or higher is highly desired.
- Ability to work the overnight shift, including weekends and holidays.
- Must hold a valid Driver’s License.

This position is onsite at Hotel Polaris at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. The role involves working the overnight shift, including weekends and holidays.
Compensation
USD 28 to 30 per hour.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly, with more capacity available with assistance.

- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and temperature conditions.
