Facility Maintenance

Hotel Equities Group, LLC is seeking a Facility Maintenance team member for an onsite role in Harrisburg, PA supporting the Hilton Harrisburg. In this position, you assist with maintenance, repair, refurbishment, renovation, remodeling, and day-to-day upkeep to help keep the property functional, safe, and welcoming for guests.

Working under general supervision, you’ll complete work orders, perform checks and inspections, address room maintenance requests as they come in, and support the overall condition of hotel systems, equipment, and common areas.

Role & Responsibilities

• Complete assigned work orders for general repair within the assigned time frame to support operational efficiency for the hotel and its equipment.
• Perform systematic checks and inspections, and assist with the proactive maintenance program to help prevent malfunctions, breakdowns, and general depreciation.
• Respond immediately and courteously to guest needs to repair and resolve room maintenance requests and issues.
• Maintain tools, workspaces, and equipment in safe, secure, and good condition to reduce accidents and help prolong equipment use.
• Cut room keys using an automatic key cutter and repair and/or change room locks for hotel and guest security.
• Adjust and repair electronic problems on hotel equipment, including televisions.
• Assist with maintaining safety equipment and emergency procedures for the safety of guests and employees.
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous manner at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management, including assisting other departments as directed.
• Work varying schedules based on business needs.
• Remove snow and scoop sidewalks and driveways as weather dictates for guest safety.
• Contact electrical, plumbing, and elevator contractors by telephone or written correspondence for repair and maintenance of hotel equipment.
• Run errands as needed, driving a personal or company vehicle, to drop off and pick up supplies, equipment, and furnishings.

Required Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 6 months successful experience in an equal or similar position.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Basic working knowledge in general plumbing, refrigeration, air conditioning; electrical systems; boilers; bathroom fixtures and tiling; painting (prep to finish); basic carpentry; and groundskeeping.
• Vision to read written communications, LED read-outs, meters, and computer screens.
• Finger, hand, and upper body dexterity to pull levers, rotate knobs, work with arms raised above the head, and handle and assemble small parts using basic hand and power tools.
• Upper body strength to lift 75 lbs throughout an 8-hour shift.
• Leg strength and ability to crawl through small spaces, climb ladders, and support and carry loads of 75 lbs.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, communicate verbally and in writing, use analytical thinking, understand verbal and written technical and mechanical instructions, and remain highly organized.
• Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with employees, guests, and contractors in writing, via telephone, and in person.

Pay Range

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
