Hotel maintenance

Hotel maintenance role at Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Pomona, CA on site, responsible for maintaining and repairing facilities to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment with leadership in maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Diagnose faults using schematics and technical manuals, implementing effective repair solutions.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs.
• Supervise contractors during specialized repair work or projects.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and hotel policies.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance work carried out, including parts used and time spent.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest or staff repair requests promptly and professionally.
• Lead by example in promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork within the maintenance department.

Requirements

• Proven experience in building maintenance or engineering within the hospitality industry or a similar environment.
• Strong electrical experience with knowledge of wiring, circuit boards, and control systems.
• Mechanical knowledge including plumbing, HVAC systems, and general building repairs.
• Experience working with schematics, technical manuals, and PLC programming is highly desirable.
• Welding skills are advantageous but not essential; relevant training can be provided if necessary.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance setting is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to instruct team members clearly and liaise effectively with guests and staff alike.
