Job Description
Overview
In this role, you will maintain cleanliness and organization across banquet rooms, hallways, storage areas, and service spaces. You will routinely inventory and care for banquet supplies including linens, chairs, china, glassware, flatware, and decorations. You will set up banquet rooms according to the specifications in a banquet events order, then reset the rooms to their original state after each event concludes.
During events, responsibilities include assisting servers, transporting tables and equipment, maintaining audio-visual equipment, reporting maintenance concerns to management, and providing requested information to banquet patrons.
Essential Functions
Support a guest-focused environment that encourages guests to choose Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain for gaming entertainment. Actively build and maintain guest relations and mentor team members to help deliver superior guest service.
- Meet and greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
- Set up and break down meeting rooms according to event orders while maintaining cleanliness standards for equipment and meeting rooms.
- Assemble and arrange conference equipment in meeting rooms based on event requirements.
- Open rooms for use by adjusting lights, sound volumes, and temperature as needed before guests arrive.
- Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of all audio-visual and meeting room equipment.
- Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in the Kumi Event Center, Back of House, Hospitality Suite, and any areas designated as banquet or entertainment venues.
- Communicate areas of need, problems, and concerns from guests to the supervisor.
- Clean and sanitize work and public spaces.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.
- Prior experience in the Gaming industry required.
- Prior experience in Tribal Gaming strongly preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Must obtain and maintain valid licenses and certifications in accordance with Federal, State, and ERGC Gaming regulations.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must successfully pass a drug screening.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Knowledge
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Physical Requirements and Schedule
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Evenings, weekends, and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
- Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration.
