Night Auditor

The Night Auditor role at The Hotel Ivy supports smooth overnight operations by keeping financial controls on track and helping maintain hotel standards throughout the night. This part-time position is based onsite in Minneapolis, MN, with coverage focused on regular Sundays and Mondays from 11:00pm to 7:00am, plus the possibility of occasional additional shifts.

Working overnight, you will complete nightly balancing and reporting tasks, coordinate with other departments as needed for consistent guest service, and handle end-of-day system responsibilities that prepare the hotel for the next day.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the daily Restaurant Revenue Report by auditing Point of Service tapes/journals to break down revenue, covers, waiters' fees, tips paid out, and settlements by type and cashier.
• Run audit reports/journals using the front office system, Point of Service, and a computer.
• Make corrections and adjustments during the shift and address computer problems as they occur.
• Input revenue, expenses, and allowances into the front office system to generate daily reports such as the Guest Ledger Summary and the Daily Restaurant Summary.
• Balance all revenue and settlement accounts nightly, maintain required files, and reset the system for next-day operations.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available for regular scheduling.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Hotel experience preferred. Experience with the front desk and night audit in a full service hotel is highly desirable.
• Basic mathematical skills and the ability to make accurate calculations using a 10-key.
• Ability to address guest and associate concerns in a friendly, positive manner.
• Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including adapting communication style for supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
