Buffet Attendant/Food Runner/Busser
Job Description
Pay rate: $15/hour
Summary
The Buffet Attendant/Food Runner/Busser provides guests with friendly, efficient service of the food and beverages they request, and collects payment for those items. The role also ensures the Bistro remains clean and fully stocked at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Guest Service
- Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the operation
- Responds promptly to guests’ needs with a personal commitment to guest service
- Works to ensure every guest is satisfied
- Meets or exceeds guest satisfaction measures
- Ensures hotel standards and services support consistent guest service
- Implements and practices guest service initiatives and performs to Hotel Standards
Server Assistant Operations
- Completes all side-work and cleaning duties as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Assists with setting out the Breakfast Buffet in a timely manner
- Maintains cleanliness and replenishment of food items for the breakfast buffet
- Helps expedite food from the kitchen
- Provides attentive service with a focus on guests’ needs
- Ensures the restaurant is stocked and that server stations items are properly restocked for each meal period
- Bus and pre-bus guest tables, removing all dirty dishes and placing them properly in the dish room
- Sweeps and mops floors after every meal and keeps floors free of debris
- Approaches all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner
- Maintains regular attendance in compliance with scheduling, which varies based on hotel needs
- Maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag while working
- Complies at all times with regulations to support safe and efficient hotel operations
- Helps greet and seat guests in the dining area
- Rolls silverware for the restaurant when required
- Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
- High School diploma and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred

- Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and guests

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to stay on their feet for long periods of time and work with a sense of urgency
- Must react quickly to service guests in a professional manner at all times
- Must be a team player and complete all duties listed on SOPs before leaving
- Must be able to lift 40-50 lbs
