Job Description

The Engineering / Maintenance Technician role supports a manufacturing facility by keeping equipment operating safely and reliably. The position includes routine inspection, troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and technical assistance for both production and customer service needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs across manufacturing equipment, including hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC/R units, and mechanical components.
  • Use schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and precision measuring instruments to pinpoint issues accurately.
  • Maintain and update maintenance records in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), including maintenance activities, parts inventory, and work orders.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities to reduce downtime and support long-term equipment performance.
  • Safely operate field service and industrial lifting equipment, including scissor lifts, to access high or difficult areas.
  • Support installation projects that may include welding (including <LOCATION> welding), mechanical assembly, and electrical upgrades while following required safety standards.
  • Partner with production teams to optimize machinery performance and implement process improvements that increase efficiency.
  • Follow safety protocols associated with high voltage systems, low voltage controls, and industrial electrician standards.
  • Assist with emergency repairs or troubleshooting during production shifts to help limit disruptions.
  • Provide technical support for customer service inquiries related to equipment performance or maintenance issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing facility environment with a strong focus on industrial maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, and electrical wiring for both high voltage and low voltage applications, including schematics and industrial mechanics.
  • Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial electrician practices, and troubleshooting control systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance tracking and inventory management.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical diagrams accurately.
  • Experience operating field service equipment such as scissor lifts safely.
  • Strong diagnostic and analytical skills to identify complex machinery issues quickly.
  • Customer service skills for interactions with internal teams or external clients during field service activities.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques including <LOCATION> welding is preferred.
  • HVAC/R certifications or industrial electrician credentials are highly desirable.
  • Military experience in maintenance or technical roles is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required for communication across teams.
