Front Desk Associate

The Magnuson Copper Crown Hotel in Hancock, Michigan is seeking a Front Desk Associate to support guest arrival and departure. This onsite role involves reservations, front desk communication, and providing helpful information about hotel amenities and the local area.

Role Overview

As a Front Desk Associate, you will welcome guests, assist with check-in and check-out, and help manage reservations and related charges. You will also share information about hotel amenities and area options, supporting a smooth and friendly guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and help them feel at home.
• Provide information about hotel amenities and local favorites, including restaurants, attractions, and directions.
• Sell rooms to walk-in guests.
• Enter, update, and process reservations and charges using the hotel computer system.
• Answer guest questions, address concerns, and respond to requests in a friendly and timely manner.
• Notify housekeeping of room statuses and availability.
• Maintain a clean, organized front desk area.
• Balance the cash drawer.
• Work collaboratively in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Previous hotel or motel front desk experience is a plus but not required.
• Commitment to excellent customer service.
• Comfort using computers, including daily work with a reservation system and the internet.
• Flexibility with days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as is typical in hospitality.
• Ability to solve problems safely and stay calm under pressure.
• Physical ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds (with assistance), bend and crouch, walk stairs while carrying items, shovel walkways, stand for extended periods, and work with cleaning products as needed.

Schedule & Shifts

• 6:45am to 3:00pm
• 2:45pm to 11:00pm
• 10:45pm to 7:00am

The hotel operates 24/7/365, so schedule flexibility is important. Weekend availability is required. While you will not be expected to work every weekend, there may be times during busy periods when weekend coverage is needed.

Compensation

Starting wage is $15.50 to $16.50 per hour, based on experience.
