Hotel Housekeeper

American Inn Hotel in Houghton Lake, MI is hiring an on-site Hotel Housekeeper to keep guest rooms and shared spaces clean, safe, and well maintained.

Responsibilities

• Clean guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas thoroughly using proper cleaning equipment and an appropriate chemical agent
• Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, and complete detailed floor cleaning to support high presentation standards
• Handle lifting tasks such as moving furniture or supplies while following manual handling safety protocols
• Meet sanitation expectations by cleaning windows, mirrors, fixtures, and all relevant surfaces with careful attention
• Maintain cleanliness across common areas including hallways, lobbies, stairwells, and other hotel spaces
• Follow hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols to help ensure a secure environment for guests and staff

Requirements

• Prior experience in hotel housekeeping or janitorial work is highly preferred
• Industrial cleaning technique knowledge and custodial experience are advantageous
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, including vacuums, floor scrubbers, and mops
• Familiarity with chemical handling procedures and compliance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude toward guests and team members
• Physical capability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and prolonged standing or walking during shifts
• Basic understanding of hotel housekeeping management practices is a plus

Pay

• $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
