Hotel Room Attendant
Job Description
As a Hotel Room Attendant, you will keep assigned guest rooms and bathrooms clean, serviced, and prepared in line with hotel brand standards. This onsite role supports smooth guest arrivals by maintaining cleanliness, following safety and sanitation procedures, and handling cleaning chemicals appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and service assigned guest rooms and bathrooms in accordance with hotel brand standards.
- Change bed linens, make beds, and replenish towels and guest amenities.
- Dust, vacuum, mop, and sanitize all surfaces to maintain established cleanliness standards.
- Restock housekeeping carts and maintain organized supplies of linens and cleaning products.
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or damaged items in guest rooms and public areas promptly.
- Ensure rooms are cleaned and ready for guest arrivals within established timeframes.
- Respond to guest requests promptly and courteously, providing exceptional guest service.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and chemical handling procedures.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of guest rooms and guest belongings.
- Assist with additional housekeeping tasks such as hallways, service areas, or special cleaning projects as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors regarding room status.
Required Skills and Physical Capabilities
- Push heavy carts.
- Bend and reach to dust, clean, and make beds.
- Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often for long periods.
- Talk to many different kinds of people to provide information, answer questions, and deliver required services.
- Visually inspect rooms for cleanliness and check for guest belongings left behind.
- Use written communication skills to mark completed rooms on daily paperwork.
- Move fingers, arms, and hands quickly and easily to perform cleaning duties.
- Lift all equipment and supplies on and off the cart.
Experience
- At least one year prior hotel housekeeping experience preferred.
- Minimum experience: 1 years.
Compensation
Hourly rate: USD 18 - USD 18 per hour.
