Housekeeper

The Colony Hotel Kennebunkport is seeking a Housekeeper to help maintain cleanliness and sanitation across assigned guest areas. This onsite role supports a positive guest experience by ensuring rooms are serviced to established standards and maintained with care for safety and property.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with guests to confirm their stay is going well
• Collaborate with the team to achieve resort and hotel cleanliness goals
• Maintain an orderly, properly stocked work cart throughout assigned tasks
• Use equipment, supplies, and guest amenities properly
• Complete thorough cleaning and sanitation of all assigned guest areas
• Perform daily changing and inspection of linens and towels in alignment with the Green Program standards
• Follow safety standards and remain aware of potential hazards such as broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks, and suspicious persons, reporting issues as they are found
• Respect guests’ property at all times
• Practice responsible care of all equipment
• Report to work on time and follow the posted schedule to maintain accurate time records and issue rooms according to proper standards
• Stay alert, courteous, and helpful to guests and coworkers
• Complete additional related duties as requested by the Floor Supervisor

Requirements

• Housekeeping experience is desirable
• Neat, pleasant personality
• Time management skills
• Ability to work on feet for an extended period
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions
• Ability to move and position self to reach corners on floors and high places; observe conditions and detect odors; position and navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs in tight spaces
• Ability to operate equipment including spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads, and dusters
• Ability to lift, carry, and position loads of at least 25 lbs

Compensation

USD 18 - 19 per hourly
