Housekeeping

This full-time Housekeeping position is based in Lansing, MI 48910 (onsite) at Candlewood Suites East Lansing, supporting a clean, well-maintained guest experience through sanitation, room readiness, and guest-facing service.

Role Overview

As part of Pyramid Hotel Group, the Housekeeping team member prepares and maintains assigned guest rooms and common areas to established cleanliness and safety standards. The role includes guest interaction, room maintenance, and maintaining an organized, well-stocked work cart.

Key Responsibilities

• Interact with guests to help ensure their stay is going well
• Work collaboratively to meet hotel cleanliness goals
• Keep the work cart orderly and properly stocked
• Use equipment, supplies, and guest amenities appropriately
• Complete thorough cleanliness and sanitation of assigned guest areas
• Change and inspect linens and towels daily, following standards set forth in the Green Program
• Practice safety standards and remain alert to safety hazards such as broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks, and suspicious persons; report hazards as found
• Respect guests’ property at all times
• Provide responsible care of equipment
• Report to work on time and according to the posted schedule to support accurate time records and proper standards for room issuance
• Stay alert, courteous, and helpful to guests and co-workers at all times
• Perform other related duties as requested by the Floor Supervisor

Requirements

• Housekeeping experience desirable
• Neat, pleasant personality
• Time management skills
• Ability to work on feet for an extended period
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions
• Ability to move, traverse, position self to reach corners on floors and high places; detect odors and observe conditions; operate and navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs in tight spaces
• Ability to operate equipment including spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads, and dusters
• Ability to lift, carry, and position loads of at least 25 lbs
