Housekeeping Houseman

The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, VA is hiring a dependable, team-oriented Housekeeping Houseman to support efficient guest room cleaning and maintain high cleanliness standards across public and guest areas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver linens, amenities, and housekeeping supplies to assigned floors and guest rooms.
• Complete routine cleaning for guest hallways and furnishings, including storage closets, service area stairwells, and elevators.
• Perform periodic cleaning of the chandeliers.
• Assist with stocking housekeeping supplies and organizing storage spaces on designated delivery days.
• Respond promptly to guest requests for additional items or support, ensuring requests are followed through.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned public and back-of-house areas.
• Report maintenance issues, lost and found items, and any safety concerns to the appropriate departments.
• Support special cleaning projects or emergency cleaning needs assigned by supervisors.
• Learn and assist with making beds, roll-aways, and sofa beds.

Requirements

• Available to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
• Flexible schedule between 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM, with daily schedules subject to change.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50+ lbs.
• Stand and walk for extended periods; perform physically demanding tasks.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to support multiple areas within the hotel.
• Courtly, professional demeanor with guests and team members.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and work independently or in a team setting.
