Job Description
Aqua Beach Hotel in Aquebogue, NY is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Staff member to help keep the property in excellent shape year-round. This onsite role covers routine maintenance and repairs across guest rooms, common areas, and the exterior, with added focus on hot tub upkeep and painting during the operating and off-season.
From responding to maintenance needs and inspecting for preventative work to coordinating access for outside contractors, you will play a key part in maintaining safe, clean, and well-functioning facilities. The off-season work includes room and property refreshes so the hotel is ready for the upcoming season.
Pay
- $23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, common areas, exterior areas, and staff areas
- Respond to maintenance issues and requests from management and hotel staff
- Inspect rooms and common areas to identify items needing repair, replacement, or preventative maintenance
- Complete basic repair work including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, caulking, hardware, and other general maintenance
- Repair or replace fixtures and components such as doors, locks, furniture, shelving, and other property items as needed
- Troubleshoot maintenance problems and determine when outside contractors or specialized providers are required
- Assist outside contractors and service providers with access to the property and maintenance projects
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies in an organized and safe manner
- Maintain and monitor the hotel’s hot tub according to applicable safety and operating requirements
- Check and maintain water chemistry, cleanliness, temperature, and overall condition
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the hot tub and surrounding area
- Monitor equipment and identify potential mechanical or operational issues
- Keep accurate maintenance and water-treatment records as required
- Report equipment problems, safety concerns, and necessary repairs to management promptly
- Repaint guest rooms during the off-season as needed
- Paint hallways, common areas, trim, doors, exterior areas, and other portions of the property as needed
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including patching, sanding, caulking, and minor drywall repairs
- Complete touch-up painting throughout the property during the operating season when necessary
- Assist with larger off-season maintenance and improvement projects
- Help prepare guest rooms and common areas for the upcoming season
- Identify areas that require repair, renovation, or cosmetic improvement and communicate recommendations to management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Inspect the property regularly for potential safety hazards or maintenance concerns
- Address minor hazards and maintenance issues promptly and report larger concerns to management
- Assist with seasonal opening and closing procedures and other property-preparation tasks
- Keep maintenance areas, storage spaces, and equipment organized
- Follow all applicable safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines when operating tools and equipment
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Previous experience in general maintenance, hotel maintenance, property maintenance, construction, or a related field preferred
- Painting experience is strongly preferred
- Experience with hot tub, pool, spa, or water-treatment maintenance is a plus
- General knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and mechanical repairs
- Ability to safely operate common hand tools and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a well-kept property
- Dependable and punctual, able to work independently
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize maintenance needs
- Good communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with hotel management and staff
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions when necessary
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and move tools, equipment, and maintenance materials
- Valid driver’s license
Off-Season Expectations
- The off-season is an important part of this position.
- When the hotel is not operating at full capacity, the Maintenance Person will work with management to complete preventative maintenance, painting, repairs, room refreshes, and property improvement projects so the hotel is in excellent condition for the upcoming season.
