Public Space Attendant
Job Description
Join the team at Historic Hotel Bethlehem and help keep our public spaces clean, welcoming, and well maintained. This part-time Overnight Public Space Attendant role is based onsite in Bethlehem, PA, supporting guest-facing areas throughout the hotel.
What you’ll do
Overnight, you’ll follow established safety and cleaning procedures to keep public areas fresh and disinfected. Your work helps maintain a comfortable environment in high-traffic spaces, including the lobby, restaurants, public restrooms, fitness center, and marble floors. You’ll also complete detailed floor care on a quarterly schedule.
- Clean and disinfect public areas by following safety procedures and the cleaning procedures set forth by Historic Hotel Bethlehem
- Vacuum and dust the main lobby
- Vacuum, dust, and mop two restaurants
- Clean and mop public restrooms
- Clean and disinfect the fitness center
- Strip and buff marble floors quarterly
What we’re looking for
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Comfort multi-tasking in a hotel setting
- Knowledge of cleaning products and procedures in a hotel environment
- Guest service mindset with personal responsibility, attention to detail, and teamwork
- Professional, courteous communication and empathy when addressing guest concerns, including listening, apologizing, finding a solution, and following through
- Ability to communicate effectively and verbally in English
- Excellent hospitality skills and self-motivation
- Flexible availability for extended hours, weekends, and holidays
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

Physical requirements
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 30–50 pounds
- Must use abdominal and back muscles and be able to stand for the duration of the shift
- Must be able to perform fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists
- Must be able to reach and stretch, bend, kneel, and squat
