Job Description
Join Innkeeper Hospitality Services, LLC onsite in St. Louis, MO to keep guest rooms and public areas consistently clean, stocked, and guest-ready.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve supplies from shelves and storerooms; set up cleaning cart and maintain carts and storerooms in a clean, organized state to improve room-cleaning efficiency.
- Clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures across rooms, public areas, and hallways; use ladders or stepping stools for hard-to-reach areas.
- Service guest and public restrooms by washing shower walls and tubs, cleaning toilets and stall walls (if applicable), wiping exposed pipes, and cleaning mirrors, sinks, and wall surfaces.
- Replace towels, soaps, and room amenities; restock guest literature.
- Wash hard floor areas (linoleum, tile, and similar surfaces) by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings; use a duster to reach vents and ceiling corners to remove dust and cobwebs.
- Strip beds of all linen and remake with fresh linens; lift mattresses to check for soil between mattresses and under the bed.
- Check closets for cleanliness; wipe closet doors, handles, and overhead shelves; restock guest supplies such as hangers, extra blankets, and pillows.
- Vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways using vacuums weighing up to 25 lbs; lift or move heavy furniture to vacuum carpet fully, including underneath furniture.
- Inspect room equipment (TV, lights/lamps, faucets, radios) to confirm proper working condition; report room status and maintenance deficiencies immediately.
- Secure and maintain custody of equipment, keys, and supplies at all times to protect hotel property.
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor throughout assigned shifts.
- Clean patio or balcony areas by sweeping or hosing floors; wipe down furniture and fixtures; pick up garbage and clean patio or balcony doors and windows.
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
- Assist other employees and departments to support overall departmental and hotel performance.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma / Secondary qualification or equivalent.
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or cleaning standards preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment.
- Vision ability to spot minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas; ability to read written instructions and computer print-outs.
- Upper body strength to lift up to 50 lbs continuously throughout an 8 hour shift.
- Finger, hand, and upper body dexterity to push, pull, and move levers, equipment, and furniture throughout an 8 hour shift.
- Ability to work with arms raised above head throughout an 8 hour shift.
- Ability to maneuver fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50 lbs through hallways and into and out of closets during the work day.
- Familiarity with basic residential cleaning equipment (vacuum, floor buffers, carpet cleaning equipment), cleaning cart, ladder/stepping stool, and commercial washers, dryers, and pressers.
- Continual exposure to hazardous chemicals.
- Ability to perform prolonged strenuous physical activity in an indoor climate-controlled environment; excessive heat and humidity in laundry.

- Strong communication skills when interacting with guests and employees.
- Reading and writing abilities used often when completing paperwork and logging issues, complaints, requests, and information updates.
- Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities are often used.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays.
