Job Description
Scholar Highlander Hotel is seeking a Room Attendant for an onsite role in Radford, VA. This position focuses on keeping guest rooms clean, comfortable, and ready for arrival while following hotel standards and safety and security procedures. Responsibilities
- Maintain guest service as a guiding philosophy of day-to-day operations.
- Respond promptly to guest needs and work with a friendly, service-oriented approach with guests and employees.
- Greet all guests, including both internal and external visitors.
- Help ensure guest satisfaction measures are met or exceeded.
- Follow hotel standards and services to deliver consistent guest service.
- Implement and practice guest service initiatives in line with Hotel Standards.
- Complete pre-cleaning duties, including setting up the housekeeping cart with guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linens.
- Remove all trash and dirty linen from guest rooms.
- Thoroughly clean and re-stock guest rooms per your assigned schedule. Time allotted per room is based on the hotel’s standard of 30 minutes per departure room.
- Make beds, vacuum, dust, and complete room set up.
- Clean guest bathrooms to hotel standards.
- Keep hallways, public areas, and closets clean, neat, and vacuumed.
- Maintain storage closets by removing dirty linen and trash daily.
- Prepare the housekeeping cleaning cart for next day use.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel Standards, with scheduling that varies based on hotel needs.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
- Comply with hotel standards and regulations to support safe and efficient operations.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- No experience necessary, but previous experience is helpful.
- Team player with the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to read and speak English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information in small group situations to customers and other employees.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, guests, and supervisors to support optimum property operations.
- Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
- Ability to sit or stand as needed for extended periods.
- Ability to reach above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lift as required to store materials.
- Proper lifting techniques required.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects over 50 lbs.
- Ability to use various cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners.
- Must be able to work with various cleaning solutions.
- Physically able to perform cleaning tasks, lifting, and bending for extended periods.
