Seasonal Hotel Housekeeper / Front Desk Associate
Job Description
This seasonal role at Hotel Planter in La Conner, WA (onsite) is designed for a small, hands-on team at a 12-room boutique hotel. The position combines guest room housekeeping with light front desk support, keeping both the property and guest experience running smoothly.
You will primarily focus on cleaning and preparing rooms, while also covering basic front desk tasks as needed, including guest communications and reservation or payment support.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete a range of cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness and order in guest rooms, hallways, and common areas
- Make beds, change linens, and replenish towels and toiletries
- Vacuum carpets, sweep, and mop floors
- Dust furniture and fixtures
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms
- Empty trash receptacles
- Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to management
- Report low inventory and note supply needs
- Handle laundry duties including washing, drying, folding, and stocking linens and towels
- Answer phones and assist guests with questions and requests
- Process reservations and payments when needed
- Support guest check-ins and other front desk duties as required
Typical Shift Schedule
- AM Shift: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- PM Shift: 2:30 PM – 9:00 PM
- Weekly hours: generally 13 – 26 hours per week, with variation based on occupancy and business needs
One of the coverage needs includes occasional double shifts, combining both the AM and PM shifts into a single workday.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous housekeeping, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred
- Training is available for the right individual who shows reliability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic
- Flexible availability between AM and PM shifts, including weekends and early weekdays
- Reliable attendance and willingness to be a dependable member of a small team
- Comfort working alongside and supporting the hotel manager with daily property operations
- Ability to stay active throughout portions of the shift
- Follow instructions and maintain hotel standards
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently
- Excellent time-management skills
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures and equipment
- Professional, friendly demeanor when interacting with guests
- Understand that unscheduled absences can create a significant burden on the rest of the team
- Follow company attendance policies, provide notice whenever possible, and treat scheduled shifts as an important commitment
Performance Reviews
Periodic performance reviews are conducted to evaluate job performance, reliability, attendance, and adherence to hotel standards.
