Building Maintenance Tech

At Deloitte University Hotel & Conference Center, the Benchmark Hospitality team is seeking a full-time Building Maintenance Tech to handle general maintenance needs across the property. This onsite role supports guest and employee requests, preventive upkeep, and work order completion while maintaining a safe, well-organized workspace.

You will complete tasks tied to the maintenance request system, perform duty rounds using daily checklists, and collaborate with others on repairs within your area of expertise. The position runs on the 2nd shift at $20 per hour in Westlake, TX.

What You Will Do

• Complete maintenance requests submitted by guests or employees for general maintenance issues.
• Coordinate with guests or employees to help ensure each maintenance request is completed successfully.
• Perform preventative maintenance and maintain organized maintenance logs.
• Identify problems, initiate work orders, complete assigned work orders, and complete necessary repairs related to your expertise.
• Conduct duty rounds using daily checklists, report noted issues, and correct problems found.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workspace, including responsibility for inventory of tools in use.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE properly while working in a safe manner.
• Use the maintenance request system correctly (training provided).
• Assist with maintenance requests for other trades as needed.

Requirements

• 1 year of maintenance experience required, such as in hotels, home repair, hospitals, office repair, or apartment complex repairs.
• Skilled with hand, power, and diagnostic tools.
• Experience with minor wallpaper and vinyl repair.
• Experience repairing and painting drywall, wood, metal, and other surfaces using rollers and brushes.
• Experience repairing tile and grout.
• Experience refinishing woodwork including staining, varnishing, and lacquering.
• Basic plumbing repair experience.
• Basic electrical repair experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics (preferred).
• Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbally, due to guest contact.
• Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record preferred.
