Hotel Painter
Job Description
Texas Hotel Management is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Painter to support the look and upkeep of hotel spaces across Houston, TX. This in-person role focuses on maintaining and improving guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities through accurate painting and finishing work.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete interior and exterior painting for hotel rooms, corridors, lobbies, offices, restaurants, and other facilities.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling cracks, and applying primers when needed.
- Mix and match paints, colors, and finishes to match hotel standards.
- Repair damaged walls, ceilings, doors, furniture, and other painted surfaces prior to repainting.
- Apply paint, varnish, enamel, stains, and related finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Deliver neat, accurate painting work that meets required quality standards.
- Protect furniture, flooring, fixtures, and hotel equipment from paint, dust, and damage during tasks.
- Maintain painting tools, equipment, and materials to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Spot areas that require painting or touch-ups and report maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- Finish assigned painting and maintenance tasks within set timelines.
- Follow hotel procedures for safety, cleanliness, and maintenance.
- Keep the work area clean and organized at all times.
- Assist the Maintenance Department with related tasks when required.
Requirements
- Previous Painter experience, ideally in a hotel, resort, commercial building, or similar environment.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant painting experience.
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing.
- Ability to work with brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other painting equipment.
- Knowledge of different paints, primers, coatings, and finishes.
- Capability to identify and repair minor wall and surface defects.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and also as part of a maintenance team.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and work for extended periods.
- Good time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and hotel standards.
- Previous hotel experience is considered an advantage.
