House Person

As a House Person, you support the day-to-day effectiveness of the hotel Housekeeping department by maintaining supplies and equipment, organizing back-of-house spaces, and assisting with cleanliness across operational areas of the property.

Role Overview

House Persons help ensure that housekeeping operations run smoothly through organized storerooms, clean back-of-house areas, and timely support with trash removal and linen retrieval. When needed, you also assist with maintaining cleanliness in public spaces to support a welcoming guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of storeroom shelves and other supply storage areas to support easy retrieval and inventory control.
• Clean and organize back-of-house areas, including doors, walls, closets, lockers, refreshment areas, and fixtures, to keep work areas presentable and orderly.
• When necessary, support the cleanliness of public spaces such as guest corridors, lobby areas, public restroom facilities, and exterior hotel spaces.
• Retrieve and properly dispose of trash from guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
• When necessary, take ownership to address guest challenges in collaboration with the Housekeeping and Guest Service teams.
• Maintain professionalism aligned with hotel brand and company expectations.
• Know and communicate hotel emergency procedures, and inform and assist guests during emergencies.
• Perform additional tasks as required or assigned by hotel leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in the primary language used in the workplace.
• Ability to work 8+ hours per day, standing and walking frequently throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift, lower, and maneuver up to 30 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and pivot frequently throughout the workday.

Compensation

USD 20 per hour (on-site role in Santa Barbara, CA).
