Houseperson - Housekeeping (PM)
Job Description
Join Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol as a Houseperson on the on-site housekeeping team. This PM shift role in Bristol, VA offers an hourly wage of $14 to $19 and supports a positive guest experience through linen coordination, delivering guest items, stocking supplies, and assisting Housekeepers while helping to keep hallways clean.
Responsibilities
- Conduct yourself in line with Gaming Commission regulations and departmental policies and procedures.
- Keep the assigned area clean, safe, and free from hazards.
- Foster positive guest interactions at all times.
- Support Housekeepers with room cleaning when needed.
- Stock carts with cleaning supplies, linens, amenities, and equipment.
- Be aware of guests in corridors, greet passersby by name when known, yield to guests with carts, and switch off vacuums when guests pass.
- Enter guest rooms following procedures and respect Do Not Disturb requests.
- Aid Housekeepers with deep cleaning tasks in guest rooms.
- Remove in-room dining trays and tables from rooms and hallways.
- Deliver items requested by guests to their rooms.
- Clean and stock linen closets.
- Empty trash from carts and linen closets.
- Take soiled linen from carts and linen closets to the laundry.
- Clean stairwells, windows, furnishings, lighting, fixtures, drapes, vents, and plants.
- Sweep and mop floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
- Deliver and remove cribs and rollaway beds as needed.
- Clean vacuum cleaners daily.
- Unload unused items from carts and store them properly.
- Maintain positive, professional communication with the team.
- Acknowledge colleagues and supervisors for their contributions.
- Attend meetings to learn about programs, procedures, and events, and discuss opportunities.
- Maintain a healthy and safe work environment for coworkers and guests.
- Know the property facilities, services, hours of operation, in-house events, conferences, and amenities to proactively assist guests.
- Promote on-site outlets to guests.
- Provide clear directions to guests within the property.
- Resolve guest complaints according to property procedures.
- Foster a positive environment that enables team members to reach their potential.
- Listen to feedback from guests, team members, and managers to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with teammates to complete tasks that deliver Amplified Service.
- Attend Sound Check meetings on each shift.
- Always greet guests and colleagues with a friendly smile.
- Know and practice the Hard Rock mission, values, culture, and spirit.
- Perform duties per company standards, policies, guidelines, and applicable laws.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Communicate with management to ensure duties are completed to standard.
- Maintain a professional appearance when interacting with team members, guests, clients, owners, and investors.
- Operate ethically to protect the Hard Rock brand.
- Maintain confidentiality of guest, team member, and company information.
- Follow all property policies and standard operating procedures.
- Work regularly and predictably.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent, with at least 6 months of janitorial experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must obtain and maintain all licenses and certifications per federal, state, and gaming regulations.
- Background check clearance required.
- Drug screening clearance required.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to understand and use professional language to communicate complex ideas.
- Ability to read and write simple instructions, brief notes, and memos.
- Basic math skills for counting and simple operations.
- Ability to interact with guests and teammates with patience, tact, and diplomacy.
- English fluency required; additional languages preferred.
Pay range: $14-$19 per hour.
