Houseperson

At Yosemite Southgate Hotel & Suites, the Houseperson plays an essential role in keeping daily hotel operations running smoothly. This part-time, onsite position supports multiple departments by maintaining common areas, assisting with guest requests, and helping ensure the property looks and functions at its best, inside and out.

Working in Oakhurst, CA, the Houseperson helps with cleaning, light maintenance, and supply stocking, while also stepping in with bellhop and luggage handling when needed. The role includes maintaining exterior grounds and assisting Maintenance with requested tasks related to hotel facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist all departments by cleaning common areas across the hotel property
• Complete light maintenance tasks as assigned
• Remove debris from exterior grounds
• Stock supplies throughout the hotel
• Respond to and attend to guest service requests
• Provide bellhop and luggage handling services
• Assist Housekeeping with cleaning common (public) areas using tools such as vacuum cleaner, broom, mop, and sweeper in both interior and exterior areas
• Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors in locations including the lobby, public restrooms, fitness areas, laundries (public and main), storerooms, and other areas as directed
• Dust, polish, and clean lobby and hall areas, elevator metal work, door glass and handles, public telephone booths, and pool, patio, and lobby furniture and stairways to upper floors
• Maintain outside parking areas, building entryways, lawns, flower beds, and walkways free of litter, debris, and weeds
• Wash parking areas on a scheduled basis and ensure the parking lot remains free of cigarette butts and refuse
• Assist the Maintenance Department when requested with maintenance projects
• Provide basic servicing such as cleaning or changing air conditioning filters in guestrooms
• Clean and maintain pool and spa and sauna/fitness facilities

Requirements

• Must be eligible to be employed in the United States of America
• Must be proficient to efficiently perform all jobs within the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments
• Must have the ability to follow directions, remember and apply elementary English language skills (speaking) to communicate with supervisors and hotel guests for privacy, safety, and guest request support
• Must be able to load, unload, or push luggage carts weighing approximately 200 pounds when filled to capacity
• Must be able to wear protective gloves when handling potentially infectious materials
• Must have the physical and mental abilities to perform essential housekeeping functions with or without reasonable accommodation
