Houseperson

The Houseperson supports the hotel’s cleanliness and presentation by assisting housekeeping teams and helping maintain both guest-facing and back-of-house areas. This onsite role in San Antonio, TX focuses on daily standards of order, sanitation, and well-kept public spaces.

Role Overview

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance throughout the property by supporting housekeeping operations and ensuring designated areas remain ready for guest use. The position requires availability for PM shifts and the ability to work holidays and weekends as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, hallways, and public areas to high standards.
• Complete floor care tasks including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to keep surfaces in excellent condition.
• Restock supplies in guest rooms and public areas, including towels, toiletries, and linens.
• Maintain cleanliness of lobbies, corridors, elevators, stairwells, and service areas.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to support housekeeping management.
• Occasionally assist with stripping beds and/or bringing sheets to the laundry room.
• Ensure janitorial equipment is stored properly and maintained for ongoing use.
• Follow safety procedures related to industrial cleaning and custodial tasks to help support a safe environment for staff and guests.

Required Qualifications

• Must be available for PM shifts.
• Must be available to work holidays and weekends if needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school or equivalent (preferred).
• Prior experience in hotel housekeeping, janitorial services, or custodial work (preferred).
• Experience with floor care techniques such as buffing or carpet cleaning is advantageous.
• Knowledge of hospitality standards or hotel operations is a plus.
• Experience in industrial cleaning or custodial responsibilities is valued.
• Housekeeping management experience is beneficial for those interested in supervisory opportunities.

Pay and Schedule

• Pay: $14.00 to $16.00 per hour
• Shift availability: Night Shift (preferred)
