Houseperson/Shuttle Driver

Mereté Hotel Management is hiring a Houseperson/Shuttle Driver to support guest service while keeping public spaces in excellent condition. In this onsite role in Medford, OR, you will assist the Front Desk and Housekeeping with cleaning duties and help transport guests using the company van or shuttle service.

What you will do

• Operate the company van/shuttle service to transport guests.
• Obey all traffic laws while driving.
• Clean and vacuum hallways and public areas.
• Stock linen closets with clean linen.
• Retrieve soiled linen from housekeeping carts and empty trash on carts.
• Move furniture and assist with rotating mattress inventory.
• Set up and tear down the meeting room.
• Deliver guests with special items such as baby cribs, rollaway beds, microwaves, and refrigerators.
• Report all maintenance and repair needs, along with any damage, vandalism, and missing Hotel property.
• Communicate with your supervisor about guest requests and problems.
• Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the manager.

Attendance and teamwork matter. Regular and reliable attendance, punctuality, and respectful, positive behavior that encourages teamwork are essential functions of this position.

Physical and working requirements

• Physically able to perform cleaning duties.
• Lift and carry an average of 30 lbs frequently (maximum 50 lbs frequently).
• Stand and walk up to two miles per day on cement, tile, asphalt, and carpet.
• Reach and use overhead extension to pull items down.
• Push and pull an average of 50 lbs frequently (maximum 150 lbs).
• Perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, stooping, and twisting.
• Enter and exit the shuttle vehicle, and sit in the padded seat while driving.
• Work with and be exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, dust, and noise.
• Adhere to Hotel safety standards and procedures, including appropriate hearing, eye, and hand protection for equipment operation.
• Effectively manage time.
• Communicate with guests and team members.
• Adjust schedule changes and cover shifts on short notice.
• Work a variety of hours and shifts.
• Follow all appropriate policies and procedures while striving to improve standards of operation.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards set by the manager.

Driving and screening requirements

• Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to be approved by Mereté’s insurance company as an insurable driver.
• Have excellent customer service skills.
• Pass a criminal background check.

Salary: USD 16 to USD 16 per hour.
