Job Description
The hotel night auditor serves as the first point of contact for guests while supporting front desk operations overnight at AC Hotel by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Airport.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor during all guest and team interactions.
- Greet guests using the 10/5 or 15/5 rule at each touchpoint.
- Ensure every guest feels welcomed upon arrival and throughout their stay.
- Register guests and assign rooms.
- Complete the check-out process in accordance with hotel standards.
- Support guest satisfaction by answering questions with accurate information and a positive attitude.
- Handle guest inquiries related to hotel services, guest registration, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
- Answer phone calls and retrieve guest mail, faxes, and packages.
- Promote hotel amenities and services using personal knowledge and effective selling techniques.
- Maintain strong knowledge of hotel features and services, hours of operation, room rates, special packages and promotions, and daily house count with expected arrivals and departures.
- Stay current on scheduled daily group activities.
- Provide consistent communication with other departments and supervisors/managers to support guest satisfaction.
- Attend team meetings and celebrations.
- Follow all company policies, including safety and security procedures.
- Welcome and acknowledge guests per company standards, anticipate service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to a manager.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED completion.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
- Demonstrate good computer skills, including familiarity with computer terminology (desired).
- Ability to accurately handle cash and post charges.
- Hotel experience preferred but not mandatory; some customer service background required.
- Spanish speaking ability is a plus.
- Ability to pass Alcohol Compliance Certification during the first three months of employment.
- Willingness and capability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.
