Job Description

PM Maintenance Engineer is responsible for keeping hotel systems, equipment, and the building in good repair. This onsite role at Margaritaville Hotel Nashville supports both guest-facing spaces and back-of-house areas through preventive maintenance and timely repairs.

Location and Schedule

  • Location: Nashville, TN (onsite)
  • PM schedule: 3:00pm to 11:30pm
  • Availability: Full availability; weekends and holidays are a must

Compensation

  • Pay: USD 20 to 22 per hour

Role Overview

A Rooms/Building Maintenance Engineer performs work to keep machines, mechanical equipment, and the hotel structure operational and in good repair. Work may include pipe fitting, boiler making, insulating, carpentry, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, minor plumbing, and other general maintenance duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all work order policies and procedures.
  • Communicate parts and materials needs to the supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Provide the supervisor with updates on job and project status.
  • Maintain adequate parts, materials, and supplies on the supply cart.
  • Maintain and repair equipment in laundry, kitchen, guestrooms, convention areas, and public spaces.
  • Repair refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical fixtures in guestrooms, kitchen, or laundry to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Maintain work areas clean and organized.
  • Monitor life safety systems and respond to alerts as necessary.
  • Complete preventive maintenance and cosmetic repairs such as carpet, wall covering, furniture, painted surfaces, burned-out light bulb replacement, and related tasks in assigned areas.
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Clean and treat food and beverage floor drains with enzymes weekly.
  • Maintain chemical levels in automatic mechanical systems.
  • Maintain electrical carts.
  • Repair irrigation or sprinkler systems.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings.
  • Fill key list orders, make nametags and signs.
  • Remove and install water heaters.
  • Respond to complaints or problems from guests or other departments in a timely manner.
  • Keep tools and maintenance equipment clean and secure.
  • Complete preventive maintenance duties on schedule.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor, including cross-training.

Requirements

  • Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Minimum experience: 2 years
  • Preferred experience: 2 to 5 years in commercial or institutional maintenance environments.
  • HVAC or plumbing or electrical skills.
  • Light carpentry and knowledge of paint and wallpaper.
  • Pool operation certification is preferred.
  • Meet minimum age requirements of the jurisdiction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.
  • Valid driver’s license is preferred.
  • Preventive maintenance background preferred.
  • No employee will pose a direct threat to the health or safety of self or others.

  • Maintenance: Perform general repairs and assigned maintenance duties in a satisfactory and timely manner; respond to guest and department issues promptly; keep tools and maintenance equipment clean and secure; complete preventive maintenance on schedule.
