Room Attendant

As a Room Attendant at Hotel Contessa in San Antonio, TX, you will keep guest rooms and the property in a safe, clean condition for guests, associates, and vendors. The role focuses on completing room cleaning tasks to established procedures and ensuring rooms are ready for arrival.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean bathtubs, toilets, sinks, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and cleaning agents, including reaching overhead, bending, and stooping as needed.
• Follow cleaning procedures and instructions for the correct use of cleaning agents.
• Strip beds and make beds by changing bed linens, which may require lifting bedspreads up to 50 lbs.
• Dust furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly.
• Push and pull vacuum equipment throughout the full room and empty trash.
• Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in each guest room.
• Sign for room keys, retrieve and push keys to assigned rooms, restock the heavy cart, and perform a visual inspection for cleanliness and appearance before indicating room completion.
• Comply with attendance rules and maintain availability to work on a regular basis.
• Complete other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, reach arms overhead for cleaning tasks, and work effectively in confined spaces.
• Willingness to pitch in, help coworkers with their duties, and function as a team player.
• Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and the operation of various cleaning equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
