Room Attendant

This is an onsite role with a competitive hourly rate of USD 21 per hour.

Responsibilities

In this position, you will clean and prepare guest rooms and public areas according to established standards, supporting guest satisfaction and helping maximize revenues.

• Maintain hotel rooms and the building to help ensure a safe and clean experience for guests, associates, and vendors.
• Set up and maintain a cleaning cart with supplies, keeping carts and storerooms clean and orderly to improve efficiency.
• Clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures in rooms, public areas, and hallways.
• Wash shower walls and tubs, clean toilets and stall walls, wipe exposed pipes, and clean mirrors, sinks, and walls for sanitary restrooms.
• Replace towels, soaps, and room amenities, and restock literature as needed when items are missing, soiled, or torn.
• Wash hard floor areas by hand (such as linoleum and tile) to remove dirt and soiled areas.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings.
• Strip beds of all linens and remake with fresh linens.
• Check closets for cleanliness, wipe closet door/handle and overhead shelves, and restock supplies such as hangers, extra blankets, and extra pillows.
• Vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways.
• Inspect door and window locks; immediately alert management to any unsecured or unsafe situation.
• Check lights and remotes to ensure they are in working order.
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment.
• Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, including reaching overhead, bending, and stooping to complete cleaning tasks.
• Education requirement: less than a high school education; experience and training may include up to six months related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, and weekends and holidays.
