Room Attendant

Maintain clean, well-prepared guest rooms while following hotel housekeeping procedures at SHERATON DALLAS HOTEL BY THE GALLERIA in Dallas, TX (onsite).

Responsibilities

• Stock the housekeeping bag to ensure adequate cleaning supplies, equipment, and amenities for each room.
• Follow proper knocking procedures before entering a guest room.
• Clean assigned guest rooms to the required standard.
• Ensure each cleaned room has the correct amenities stocked.
• Complete the full housekeeping checklist for every assigned room.
• Mark rooms as clean for supervisor inspection.
• Report any damages or hazards found in guest rooms (for example: burned-out light bulbs, broken furniture, broken lights, items in guestware or reported to the Housekeeping Coordinator).
• Secure guest room doors upon exiting.
• Keep corridors and service areas neat and tidy at all times.
• Turn in all lost and found items and all guest room keys.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Follow safety and security procedures and rules.
• Know department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
• Use protective equipment while performing duties.
• Report unsafe conditions to management.
• Report accidents, injuries, near-misses, and property damage or loss to management.
• Support a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
• Perform related duties as requested by management.
• Assist other Housekeeping Personnel when needed.

Requirements

• Bend and reach to dust, clean, and make beds and bathrooms.
• Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often for long periods.
• Communicate with many different kinds of people to provide information, answer questions, and provide required services.
• Visually inspect rooms for cleanliness and for guest belongings left behind.
• Use written communication skills to mark completed rooms on daily paperwork.
• Move fingers, arms, and hands quickly and easily to perform cleaning duties.
• Lifting ability up to 50 pounds maximum.
• Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in line with team member handbook standards.
