Room Attendant

Hotel Maverick in Grand Junction, CO is hiring a Room Attendant to keep guest spaces fresh, orderly, and ready for daily arrivals. This onsite role focuses on cleaning, stocking, and maintaining the appearance and safety of rooms and shared areas according to hotel procedures.

Working at Hotel Maverick at 840 Kennedy Ave, Grand Junction, CO 81501, you will support housekeeping operations from the start of your shift through completion of end-of-day tasks, including reporting issues and returning found items.

Responsibilities

• Clean, dust, wax, scrub, polish, and service guest rooms daily in line with hotel procedures.
• Stock the cart with guest room supplies at the beginning of the shift.
• Greet guests each day with a Good Morning (or afternoon/evening).
• Replace linens and replenish guest room supplies.
• Empty wastebaskets and empty and clean ashtrays.
• Rearrange furnishings, drapes, and room accessories as needed.
• Provide required linen and amenities to guests according to the guest room legend.
• Keep each room in the uniform arrangement set by the Executive Housekeeper, ensuring the door is closed and the room is locked.
• Report any damage, hazards, repairs needed, and strangers found in assigned areas.
• Return items found in guest rooms, hallways, or back of house to Housekeeping lost and found, including the date, where it was found, a description of the item, and the name of the person who found it.
• Be responsible for all keys signed out for the shift.
• Clean corridors and service areas.
• Complete projects or requests developed by the Housekeeping management team.
• Replace light bulbs when necessary.
• Restock the cart at the end of the shift and organize the linen closet to prepare for the next day.
• Perform other housekeeping duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Education: Less than high school education.
• Or up to six months related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers; ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions, and ability to deal with problems in situations.
• Must be able to speak English to communicate with guests.
• Ability to recognize situations that may require immediate supervisory attention for guest-related needs.
• Must know and use reasonable care for guest safety and security.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• No supervision required.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and controls, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25-30 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

• Occasionally works with cleaning fluids and solvents and operates hand tools, including vacuum cleaners and carpet extractors.
• Ability to reach up to 2 feet above your head (or similar reach requirements).
• Noise level is usually moderate.

Compensation

Pay: USD 16 per hour (USD 16 per hourly).
