In this Sales Manager role at The Avalon Club Hotel, you will help grow revenue across the hotel, the restaurant, and a full-service marina. You will own the sales program, build the pipeline for groups and events, and drive direct bookings through coordinated marketing campaigns and seasonal offers. You will also work closely with ownership to support revenue management decisions across rooms, F&B, and marina activity.
Salary: USD 48,000 - 50,000 per yearly
What you’ll do
- Prospect and close group business including corporate retreats, weddings, and other group events.
- Build relationships with meeting planners, travel agencies, tour operators, and regional corporate accounts.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead to signed contract through on-site execution.
- Develop wedding and private event business for the restaurant and waterfront venue space.
- Plan and execute campaigns across email, paid, social, and digital channels to drive direct bookings.
- Create seasonal promotions and packaged experiences bundling rooms, dining, and marina options.
- Manage brand presence across OTAs, review platforms, and local tourism partners.
- Partner on rate strategy, forecasting, and inventory decisions across room types.
- Monitor the competitive set for Clearwater Beach pricing and demand patterns.
- Track pace, production, and channel mix, reporting on results and areas to adjust.
- Identify revenue opportunities across restaurant covers and marina slip or activity bookings.
- Represent the property through local hospitality networks including the Clearwater Beach Chamber and Visit St. Pete/Clearwell.
- Attend trade shows, industry events, and community functions.
- Report on performance to ownership across rooms, F&B, and marina bookings.
Requirements
- Proven sales experience with a track record of hitting or exceeding targets.
- Comfort running marketing campaigns end to end, from strategy through execution.
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to represent the property to clients.
- Highly organized self-starter who can operate without a large team behind them.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for events.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Hospitality industry experience across hotel, resort, restaurant, or marina.
- Familiarity with revenue management principles and hotel PMS/CRS systems.
- Existing relationships in the Tampa Bay meetings, events, or travel market.
- Experience with group contracts, banquet event orders, and rooming lists.
- Working knowledge of digital marketing tools including email platforms, Meta Ads, and Google Business Profile.
