Job Description

This onsite night audit supervisor role at the Sheraton Redding Hotel at the Sundial Bridge in Redding, CA offers a competitive hourly wage of USD 19 to 21 and the chance to lead critical overnight front office operations on site at a premier hotel. You will oversee nightly close procedures, guest registration and checkout, cash handling, and PBX and reporting duties to ensure a smooth guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the manager on duty during night hours.
  • Greet guests on arrival and provide a welcoming start to their stay.
  • Process guest registration and checkout procedures.
  • Process payments for guest accounts at registration and at checkout.
  • Maintain the house bank, handle deposits, and prepare daily receipts reports.
  • Cash checks and assist guests with currency exchange.
  • Balance the cash drawer to the required amount and manage cash transactions accurately.
  • Acknowledge members of the rewards program and returning guests.
  • Accept and manage guest bookings.
  • Identify upsell opportunities and inform guests of ways to enhance their stay.
  • Post charges for room, food, liquor, and telephone by hand or system.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions for guests.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Carry out daily audit procedures as directed by hotel and company policies.
  • Prepare the Daily Report and other required comp and pace reports.
  • Balance all cash receipts and work completed during the audit shift.
  • Make cash deposits as needed.
  • Prepare the front office for the morning shift and reset daily operations.
  • Maintain nightly reports to inform day management of overnight activities and incidents.
  • Act as PBX operator during the audit shift and manage communications.
  • Transmit and receive messages via telephone, fax, and switchboard equipment.
  • Place wake up calls promptly using guest names.
  • Assist guests and direct emergency personnel when necessary.
  • Arrange restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservations for guests.
  • Review arrival reports and ensure special requests are met, VIPs identified, billing set up, deposits taken, and other departments notified of room assignments.
  • Attend scheduled training, departmental and hotel meetings.
  • Stay informed about promotions, daily activities, VIP arrivals, groups or conferences, special requests, and scheduled shuttles.
  • Practice safe work habits to minimize risk of injury to self and others.
  • Follow privacy and security protocols along with all departmental and company procedures.
  • Answer inquiries about hotel policies, services, registration, shopping, dining, entertainment, and directions.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of the hotel and its services, and have a general understanding of the local area and attractions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized lobby area.
  • Assist with reservations and handling mail, packages, facsimiles, and guest items.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in the primary language used in the workplace (speaking, reading, writing, understanding).
  • Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
  • Solid math skills and basic computer literacy.
  • Excellent leadership and customer relations abilities.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and basic computational ability.
  • Able to work effectively with internal and external customers, maintaining patience, tact and diplomacy to resolve conflicts and gather accurate information.
  • Knowledgeable about Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, PBX, Key system, and POS.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Hospitality industry experience preferred.
  • Front desk or customer service experience preferred.
  • Accounting experience preferred.
  • Technology: Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, PBX, Key system, POS.

  • Assist with guest inquiries.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by direct and indirect supervisors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Indoor environment with climate controlled surroundings.
  • Stand and move for up to four hours at a time and navigate concurrent functions.
  • Lift up to 45 lbs as needed; push and pull carts and equipment up to 250 lbs.
  • Finger dexterity for office equipment; frequent talking and listening; good vision and depth perception.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, and stretching to complete tasks.

All staff must maintain a neat, clean, and well groomed appearance per Azul Hospitality standards. Refer to the property specific required grooming and uniform standards policy.

ATTENDANCE

Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of this role. Irregular attendance or tardiness may lead to disciplinary action, up to termination. Upon employment, all staff must comply with Azul Hospitality, SVI LLC rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel's facilities.
